Moritz (Henry Horn) is a soccer god. He doesn’t go anywhere without his best friend, the soccer ball. When his parents (Diana Amft and Benno Fürmann) are getting divorced and his mom takes him and moves to his grumpy grandfather Rudi (Reiner Schöne), Moritz’s world falls apart. It is not easy for him to adjust to his new environment, because the only soccer club in town does not accept him. But Moritz does not give up. He makes new friends in school and they decide to start their own soccer team “The devil kickers”: The cool Rooftop-Gang, Catarina, who buries each ball in the net, Nico and the two brothers Mehmet and Enes. Grandfather Rudi, who turns out to have an incredible soccer past and used to be an excellent soccer player, agrees to become their coach so they can participate in the school soccer cup. Thus he encounters his archrival Rothkirch (Armin Rohde). Moritz parents, who still love each other but can’t seem to find a way to get together again, get their reunion op on the soccer field when they both show their ardent support for Moritz and his team. The great adventure of Moritz and the devil kickers takes its course…
