Frank Mohn (Michael Lesch) and Dieter Kaub (Robert Jarczyk) are two successful architects who are totally tired of Berlin’s daily traffic jams. Dieter is an ardent recreational pilot and gets Frank to also go for a pilot license. But it is easier said than done. Frank has no idea what trouble lies ahead of him after he first meets his pilot coach Pia Jedrow (Ute Willing) a single mom with an eight year old son called Timo (Kim Müller). She is not the type of woman who falls for Frank or even has him get his way with her.
The first clash happens when Frank tries to impress his tough teacher with special tricks in the air that go sour: instead of landing the plane on the pilot school’s airfield, Frank lands on a deserted glider-field somewhere out in the boonies. Their airplanes engine is dead and a new one cannot be delivered before the next morning. Frank and his beautiful teacher are forced to stay for the night. The only decent place to sleep is a small farm close by the airfield. Andrea (Claudine Wilde), Frank’s secretary and ex-girlfriend does not hesitate to follow Frank’s traces and causes quite a scene and a stir in the unfamiliar country territory….
