Kathrin Bischoff (Ursula Buschhorn), is a first class ice-skater and world title hopeful. But then she becomes the victim of a horrible attack: After she has finished her performance a colorful bunch of flowers comes flying her way – it is spiked with blades and inflicts painful wounds on the young skater. Nevertheless, daily business and the preparation for the world cup help Kathrin to soon get over her shock and pain. Kathrin’s mother and trainer, Maria Bischoff (Tina Engel), as well as her manager Albert Steiner (Wilfried Baasner) are still very concerned.
When an anonymous letter is sent to the girl that announces Kathrin’s imminent death, her mother hires bodyguard Alex (Herbert Knaup). Kathrin objects at first, but soon she learns to appreciate her new escort. Both of them fall in love with each other.
Katja could not do any better and is in perfect shape. She wins the world cup and is very proud of her title. But then things go wrong: Cocaine is found in Kathrin’s arch rival Sabine’s (Bettina Kurth) locker. Sabine accuses Alex to have placed the drug there against her will. Kathrin starts doubting Alex’s honesty and fires him. Kathrin’s attacker has just waited for this opportunity and assaults the girl. She survives, but the shock has caused a psychological shut down of her vision: Kathrin is blind.
