(Englisch: Love is a Novel)
Since his wife died in an accident, the successful author Marcus Weinmann (Sigmar Solbach) has been living like a recluse on a remote Norwegian island. Even his publisher gave up trying to contact him. Natalie Sommer (Ursula Buschhorn), an ambitious Berlin-based journalist, forms the plan of turning the famous author into a big scoop. She succeeds in tracking Weinmann down in Norway. He is less than pleased by her visit, and brusquely shows her the door. From the beginning Natalie has been fascinated by this mysterious and unapproachable man, although she has noticed that he does not get along with most of the village people. Natalie discovers a human tragedy in Weinmann’s past, which led to the death of two people - one of them Marcus's wife Elena. The journalist has the audacity to confront Marcus Weinmann with the truth, thus smoothing the path for reconciliation. At the same time she finds herself in a situation of conflicting allegiances. She has to choose between Marcus Weinmann and her fiancé Michael, who abandons the preparations for their wedding in Berlin, and unexpectedly shows up in Norway.
