Berlin in the 20s: Thomas Schnell is fascinated by the glamour of the TV industry. He leaves his safe bank job to become finance manager of a struggeling film production company. His first silent movie is a big hit and sure enough the producer runs off with the company’s new income. Now Tommy takes over his position and becomes head of the company. The next movie turns out to be a big flop and the comany’s future is unsure. But everything turns out for the best until the next crisis hits, when movies with sound hit the market and change the industry...
