After Lukas Martens (Francis Fulton-Smit) is dead and evidence indicates suicide. Therefore the life assurance refuses to pay. His wife Anna (Katharina Böhm) and her daughter Marie (Jamie Schuricht) are facing bancrupcy if Anna can not prove that Lukas died of natural causes. On top of that mysterious things are happening in the house. Marie tells Anna that her deceased father came to visit.
