King Victor, who ruled over the tiny kingdom of San Ferino, died. An heir or heiress to the throne must be found within 90 days - but there is no direct descendant. The adversaries are already speculating about the end of the monarchy. The queen mother (Gila von Weitershausen) and her loyal servant Archibald (Hanns Zischler) researched and found the spurious daughter Isabell Roland, a simple hairdresser from Berlin so Archibald is send to Berlin were he announces that her father was the deceases king Victor. First she cannot believe it, but Archibald Kent really is the official envoy of the Mediterranean miniature kingdom of San Ferino. Since Isabells everyday life is not very spectacular, the future princess goes along to San Ferino were she must mount the throne or the monarchy will cease to exist, and accepts. No sooner is she whisked off to her royal palace than she's being pursued by a German paparazzo and intrigued against by the principality's chief villains. Isabell discovers that running a country is a lot tougher than giving a good dye job...
