After Katja Simon (Muriel Baumeister) has lived through a personal loss she retreated to the Island of Amrum in the Northern Sea. There she meets the attractive Christian Römer (Johannes Brandrup) – a soon to be priest, which Katja doesn’t know - and feels drawn to him. Together they explore the beautiful island.
Katja really likes Christian and he seems to be attracted to her too, but she can sense that something separates him from her. The unexpected visit of her ex-boyfriend Thomas Vermeulen (Benedict Freitag) complicates things, because he tries really hard to win her over.
However he does not really regret his former behavior and thinks that a little pep talk and some cuddling will change Katja’s decision to separate and make her forgive him. But Katja still hopes for a sign of Christian’s compassion before she can respond to Thomas's advances. The three of them get caught in a deadly web of emotions …
