Thomas Winkler (Leander Haußmann) lives in Berlin, is a successful architect and single dad. His eleven year old son Nikolaus (Ivo Möller) calls himself Nick and loves basketball more than anything in the world. When his favorite team is playing in Berlin, but his dad want him to stay with his aunt in Munich, Nick doesn’t hesitate to cross his dad’s plan: He sneaks out of the Munich train and launches into a big adventure, which unfortunately, starts with a big scare. Thugs take all his money and run. The good-hearted hairdresser Anna (Eva Habermann) has pity on the stranded boy and takes car of him. Nick tells her big lie about his abusive step dad and enjoys her loving care. For Anna one thing is final: she never wants to marry a rich man. When Nick’s well to do father finds out that his son never made it to Munich, he is very concerned and immediately sets out on a search for his missing child…
